Welcome to The Doodle Pro® Podcast, where we help you raise a calmer, happier Doodle using science-backed training and real-life routines that actually work.
I’m your host, Corinne Gearhart, Certified Dog Trainer and founder of The Doodle Pro® Academy — and today, we’re talking about something that has transformed thousands of Doodle households.
Structure.
Why it matters.
Why it works.
And why it might be the calm-building rhythm your Doodle’s been missing.
Segment 1: Why Structure Isn’t Just for Potty Training
A lot of puppy parents ask me for a schedule — and usually it’s because they’re trying to house train. Which, of course, structure does help with.
But what most people miss is that predictability isn’t just a potty tool — it’s a behavior tool.
Doodles of all ages — not just puppies — thrive when they know what to expect and when. When they don’t? They start finding ways to ask for your attention:
- Demand barking
- Sock stealing
- Mid-morning zoomies
- Counter-surfing
These are all signs that your Doodle is living in a world where they don’t know what’s coming next.
And that’s where structure steps in.
Segment 2: The “More Exercise” Myth
The most common advice dog parents hear is:
“If they’re acting wild, they just need more exercise.”
And while physical activity is great, the truth is:
Over-exercising high-energy dogs like Doodles can actually make things worse.
They build stamina — not calm.
You end up with a Doodle who can go longer, harder, and still doesn’t know how to settle.
Calm is built through regulation, not exhaustion.
And the way you teach regulation?
Predictable structure.
Segment 3: What Structure Really Looks Like
Now, don’t worry — I’m not talking about a military-style schedule or setting timers every 30 minutes.
I’m talking about a repeatable daily rhythm that helps your Doodle understand:
- When engagement is coming
- When it’s time to settle
- And when their needs will be met
This rhythm helps their nervous system relax.
It helps you stop feeling like you’re putting out fires all day.
And it becomes your Doodle’s home base — not their leash.
Segment 4: Real Results from the Doodle Insider Team
In the last few weeks, over 100 Doodle parents, breeders, and even professional trainers have tested this morning rhythm — and the feedback has been amazing.
One parent told me:
“We just got back from a 2-mile walk… and she was still bouncing off the walls. I realized — it’s not about tiring her out. It’s about giving her a rhythm.”
Another said:
“I’ve already ordered enrichment toys and I’m building a morning structure — I can finally see a path forward.”
Segment 5: Get the Morning Flow Schedule Free
